ABOUT THE CARNAVAL
Carnaval de la Cultura Latina
For nearly two decades, Carnaval de la Cultura Latina has brought the vibrant energy of Latin America to the streets of Corona, Queens. Held each year in early September during the kickoff of Hispanic Heritage Month, this family-friendly event celebrates our culture through music, food, art, and community.
What began as a small neighborhood gathering has grown into one of New York City’s most beloved cultural events — drawing over 80,000 attendees in 2019 alone. The Carnaval unites generations and backgrounds through live performances, traditional cuisine, artisan crafts, and interactive activities for all ages.

We are especially proud of our Health & Wellness Pavilion, which provides essential services like free health screenings, community resources, and education — making the Carnaval a celebration that nourishes both body and spirit.

More than a festival, the Carnaval is a tradition, a community anchor, and a joyful expression of Latino identity. We invite you to join us in dancing, eating, exploring, and celebrating everything that makes Latin culture so powerful, passionate, and proud.
